By participating in the contest, users are agreeing to follow these rules completely and not break them. Users are also agreeing to accept the decisions made by Memerator as final.
All Memerator users are eligible and encouraged to participate in the contest. If users wish to keep and continue eligibility they must follow the rules listed below.
Memes posted in the meme contest must be original to Memerator. Users who post memes from other websites will lose eligibility.
Users who copy/steal/take memes from other users and claim them as their own will be automatically disqualified and lose all further eligibility. Only original memes are allowed.
Any meme posted that violates the Memerator Content Guidelines will be removed, as explained in the Content Guidelines.
Users are allowed an infinite number of entries as long as the memes are posted within the period of December 1, 2019 12:00 a.m to December 31, 2019 11:59 p.m.
Only original memes are accepted. These are, memes that aren't reposted from the internet, these must be created and submitted to Memerator. However, meme formats are allowed, but the work has to be your own. Memes cannot have been posted anywhere on the internet (including Memerator itself) prior to the contest start time. tl;dr NO STOLEN MEMES! Also make sure memes do not break the guidelines as explained later.
When submitting a meme during the month of December users will have the ability to indicate if their meme is a part of a contest when they submit a meme. Submitting memes this way will allow us to sort your memes separately and display them on the contest page where other users will be able to rate and judge the worthiness of your memes. Users should also note that participating in this, or any, contest is not required. If users decide not to participate in the contest they will still have the ability to submit memes normally.
To rate memes that are a part of the contest, users can go to https://memerator.me/contest/december2019. While users are allowed to rate their own memes, making alternate accounts to boost meme score will result in loss of eligibility.
Winners will be chosen by their meme score at the end of the contest. As memes are uploaded to the contest page they will be rated and given a meme score based off of the rating. At the end of the competition, the meme with the highest meme score will be crowned the best and funniest meme of December. In the case of a tied meme score the MemeratorDev Group will decide on the winner. The winner will be announced one week after the end of the competition, January 7, 2020.
The winner will have their meme presented on the front page of Memerator for two (2) weeks. Along with the meme being hosted on the front page we will have a link to the winner’s memerator account.
By submitting memes using the contest button users agree to follow the guidelines listed above and understand that any violation will result in immediate disqualification. They also agree to the following: Memerator has the right to disqualify/revoke any meme, user, or rating for any reason, if any at all, with or without notice.
